San Francisco, CA — Sage today announced the launch of an in-home recording feature, a new capability that allows home care operators to securely record, transcribe, and summarize in-home assessments — right from the client’s home. The feature is designed to free up care teams from manual note-taking so they can focus on what matters most: actively listening to clients and families in the moment.

By shifting documentation from the visit to after the visit, Sage helps agencies reduce administrative load, improve visit quality, and ensure critical details are captured accurately — without pulling staff away from real-time conversation and rapport-building.

“With in-home recording, our goal is to give staff their full attention back,” said Jon Levinson, Co-Founder & CEO of Sage. “Instead of splitting focus between listening and typing, teams can stay present with clients, knowing Sage will handle the notes and summaries.”

Key capabilities in the initial release:

Secure in-home recording

Staff can securely record visits through Sage, with audio automatically processed into structured notes, summaries, and next steps. Instead of scribbling or typing during the visit, staff can maintain eye contact, ask better follow-up questions, and respond more thoughtfully in real time.

Home care-specific summaries

AI-generated visit summaries, care plans, and follow-up items are tailored to home care workflows, making it easier to update care plans and share context with the broader team.

Consistent documentation

Standardized templates and AI assistance help ensure important clinical and psychosocial details are captured reliably across visits and staff.

Accurate documentation in just a click

Staff can quickly review and edit AI-generated notes before finalizing, reducing end-of-day documentation backlogs and burnout.

In-home recording is available to early Sage users. Agencies interested in early access can request a demo. Approved organizations will be onboarded in waves to ensure reliability, security, and support.

“We built Sage for the realities of home care—complex family dynamics, urgent decisions, and clients who deserve to feel truly heard,” Levinson added. “In-home recording lets teams bring their full presence into the home, while Sage takes care of the paperwork in the background.”
